WhatsApp plans to introduce advertising to the messenger.
The developers intend to add advertising posts to the “Status.” “Status” is a separate feature in WhatsApp, similar to “Stories” on Instagram. Videos and photos in “Status” are available for viewing within 24 hours.
To manage contextual advertising, WhatsApp plans to link user accounts with their profiles on Facebook and Instagram, which causes some doubts among top managers of the company. They believe the users may begin to refuse to use WhatsApp, being afraid of collecting their data.
