The first stage of Formula 1 2020 took place in Austria.

The first stage of Formula 1 took place in the Austrian city of Spielberg. Initially, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese Grand Prix was canceled, as one of McLaren’s mechanics was diagnosed with the coronavirus. Other stages were also canceled one after another, and there was even a possibility of canceling an entire season.

But the organizers of Formula 1 could not afford to take a break for a whole year. In April, Red Bull agreed to hold the Austrian Grand Prix without spectators in the stands. The Austrian government supported the idea, and in early July, teams began arriving at Spielberg for training races before participating in the Grand Prix.

In all free races, Lewis Hamilton led the Mercedes, followed by Valtteri Bottas. But, directly in the Grand Prix race, Valtteri Bottas took the lead and won the race, which took place on July 5.

At the start of the race, there were no incidents, however on lap 12, Max Verstappen’s car lost speed due to technical problems – the participant was the first to retire.

Valtteri Bottas maintained the lead throughout the race and won the Austrian Grand Prix. This victory was the eighth in a racer’s career. Lewis Hamilton crossed the finish line second, but due to penalty seconds, the rider took only fourth place. Second place went to Charles Leclair, who represented Ferrari. Third place in the race went to Lando Norris, representing McLaren.

Beautiful Lifestyle Magazine looks forward to the following racing season and wishes the best of luck to all Formula 1 drivers.
