Hungary will be the first European country to test a Russian vaccine against COVID-19. The state will receive the Sputnik V vaccine within a week and a half for laboratory tests.
According to Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyjarto, clinical trials of the Russian vaccine will begin in December. If the vaccine is effective, its bulk shipments will start in January. However, the Hungarian government does not plan to limit itself to the Russian vaccine – Hungary also plans to purchase Chinese and Israeli vaccines for laboratory testing.
