In Russia, the Sechenov University has completed the first stage of clinical trials of a vaccine against COVID-19. The trials involved volunteers who, according to official figures, feel great and are healthy. After the volunteers are discharged from the medical facility, the scientists plan to continue monitoring their well-being and how the subjects’ immunity behaves.
According to the head of the Gamaleya Research Center, Alexander Gunzburg, after the completion of the second stage of clinical trials, the vaccine may be released for mass use in August.
