Seductive dresses, crystals, and sword knots for men: Azzaro keeps up the good work after their creative director quits.
Several creative directors debuted at Paris Summer Fashion Week 2019: Chanel presented the first collection by Virginie Viard, Daniel Raspberry made a collection for Schiaparelli, while Ulyana Sergeyenko now works for Jenke Ahmed Tailley. Meanwhile Azzaro’s CEO Gabriel de Linage is yet to announce the successor to Maxime Simöens who has left after two years at the house.
Still the new collection inspired by boho-chic style perfectly combines with Azzaro’s traditional elegant manner. The house presented collections both for men and women finished in a similar style: sparkling and flowing fabrics, ombres, bright embroidery, a multitude of thin chains, meshes, and grommets. De Linage reflected the festive mood and Coachella motifs. We might see the chiffon jacket finished with white feathers at many summer festivals. Traditionally sleek silhouettes of light dresses and suits were complemented by metal belts, jewelry cuffs, and Swarovski-studded sandals. The true gems of the dark-toned collection were several dresses and suits complemented with chiffon capes and shirts.
The models at the glowing catwalk inspired by the age of disco and glamour looked as if they were ready for the best party ever. Azzaro now have time to find a new creative director while their new collection sparkles.
