Shangri-La’s Parisian outlet adds a unique touch to the experience of the City Of Lights. The hotel is situated in the luxurious 16tharrondissement on top of Chaillot hill. The legendary Tuileries Garden is just round the corner. Arc de Triomphe, Place de Concorde, and a multitude of exclusive boutiques in Avenue Montaigne and Avenue George V are within a ten-minute walk from the hotel.
The mansion hosting the hotel was built in 1896 for Prince Roland Bonaparte, Napoleon’s grand-nephew. Its first owner, head of the French Geographical Society and a passionate botanist, added to the decoration of the Empire-style interiors. Lift walls are decorated with lithographic reproductions of the flowers from the Royal family’s herbarium. The spa area is adorned by panels with images of exotic plants. Prior to the grand opening the building was restored by famous designers, Richard Martini and Pierre Yves Rochon who made sure the new interiors would be just as luxurious as the original ones.
