Show Me the Monet by renowned British street artist Banksy will be on display at Sotheby’s auction in October. The work was inspired by the original painting of the impressionist Claude Monet, The Water Lily Pond, painted in 1899.
In his allusion, Banksy added images of shopping carts and traffic cones to the picture, trying to draw attention to the problem of environmental pollution. The estimated cost of the work at the moment is from 3.8 to 6.4 million dollars.
