2018 has been announced as The Year of Culture Qatar-Russia, designed to strengthen the relationship between two countries. “Qatari Seasons” is a continuation of the Russian audience’s acquaintance with modern Qatar.
On October 8th, 2018 at the Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow, the Qatari fashion and jewelry art will be presented for the first time.
In the exhibition galleries of the Museum a fashion show of Wadha demi-couture collection, specially created for the “Qatari seasons” by the designer Wadha Al Hajri, will take place. In the portfolio of this designer, who received recognition of Franca Sozzani, there is an internship at Valentino under the direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli, shows in New York and Milan. All brand’s presentations in Qatar are held at the museum sites.
The jewelry art exposition will be presented at MAMM in the format of an installation. Noudar jewelry house is distinguished by a mixture of traditional Qatari symbols with the elements inspired by modern architecture and art. A unique style of the creative director of the brand Noor Al Fardan has a lot of admirers including Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Kendall Jenner. The collection, which will be brought to Moscow only for a few days, includes delicate intricately patterned chokers made of white, yellow and pink gold with diamonds and sapphires, rings and bracelets imitating traditional henna patterns and earrings with emeralds and rubies.
WAAD is a Qatari brand that specializes in the interpretation of traditional women’s clothing. Each season the designer of the brand Waad Yamen presents modern abayas and caftans, decorated with silk and lace or embroidered by hand.
Multimedia Art Museum has been chosen for a reason as the venue for the “Qatari Seasons”. The largest Russian museum of photography and multimedia art annually presents more than one hundred exhibition projects with the leading contemporary artists, accurately documenting and reflecting the modern culture.

Year of Culture Qatar-Russia 2018
2018 has been announced as a Year of Culture between Qatar and Russia. Despite the differences in size, climate and geography, our countries share common values – the will to modernize yet save and cherish national traditions and the goal to build the most comfortable infrastructure maximizing human potential.
Cross-cultural collaborations between Russian and Qatar cultural, educational and social institutions (museums, galleries, charity foundations, universities, etc.) will be a meeting point for two distinct cultures, which unite respect for their historical heritage and the ability to respond to the challenges of contemporary world. These areas reflect Russia’s and Qatar’s mutual interest towards key cultural spheres in which the accent on one’s needs and aspirations becomes the key to nation’s prosperity.
The Year of Culture Qatar-Russia 2018 creates an atmosphere of trust and understanding, which is crucial to build business relationships and strengthen economic, tourist and cultural partnership between two countries.
