Balmain presented its fall collection on the 28th of February during the Paris Fashion Week.
The arches are barely seen in the dark orange light creating the atmosphere of the Middle East. The show started with models in black coats walking down the runway. But after their defile there were clothes inspired by modern Istanbul and the United Arab Emirates. The collection consisted of silk cocktail dresses, capes, outerwear and accessories embroidered with golden threads.
Though Olivier Rousteing, a creative director of Balmain, was not afraid of taking risks and mixed up a collection with Parisian chic: there were classic silhouettes, check patterns and rustic colours. The monochrome leather suits were the centerpiece of the collection, resembling the idea of the futuristic city.
The Balmain collection combined both classic styles of East and West but with a modern twist.
