In March 2020, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and representatives of the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the postponement of Met Gala due to the situation in the world. But, after some time, the organizers decided to hold the event on the official Youtube channel of Vogue magazine.
Unfortunately, this year there will be no famous red carpet. Anyone can attend the event, and the program of the event will include an address from Anna Wintour, a performance from Florence and the Machine, and a DJ set from Virgil Abloh.
According to Anna Wintour, even though it is difficult to recreate that unique Met Gala atmosphere in a digital format, she hopes that the event will bring everyone joy and inspiration.
