On July 27, designer’s daughter Mirai Yamamoto publicly announced the death of a famous Japanese designer Yamamoto. According to mass media, Kansai Yamamoto died on July 21 due to illness: for the past few months, the designer has been struggling with leukemia.
The designer is known for his collaborations with many famous musicians. Kansai Yamamoto created stage outfits for Elton John and David Bowie. During the last years of his life, the designer had collaborated with Louis Vuitton, creating collections inspired by the Japanese kabuki theater.
