According to RBK sources, New Year’s festivities will be canceled in Moscow.
For several years in a row, the Moscow Mayor’s Office has been organizing the ‘Journey to Christmas’ fair festival in the city center. According to official data, about 26 million people attended the festival last year.
On November 10, the Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the introduction of new restrictions that would be in order until January 15. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the mayor set restrictions on the entertainment industry (the occupancy of theaters and cinemas should not exceed 25%). Restaurants and bars must be closed from 23:00 to 6:00, and mass sports and entertainment events are prohibited.
