The Canadian circus Cirque du Soleil is on the verge of bankruptcy: according to official figures, the company has already laid off nearly 3,500 employees and artists.
Due to the forced cancellation of tours due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cirque du Soleil’s income markedly dropped down. The president of the company had to turn to investors who would create two funds for help: one fund for $20 million aimed at supporting employees, and another fund for $300 million will restructure the circus business.
